How do I sign up?
You can create an account using our sign up page here. Or you could create a StylePile account using Facebook connect by clicking on the f-connect on the login page here.

How do I get started?
After creating your account, start by uploading a picture of yourself showcasing your style. Give your style a title, tag the items in your style and add a few words about the outfit or the inspiration behind it.

How do I upload a photo?
You must be logged in to upload a photo. Once you are logged in, click on 'Post a Style' in the navigation bar. On the upload page click browse to select a photo from your computer and then click “upload” to start uploading. Once it’s done, you can add more information about the style.

What can I upload?
You must follow the Rules of Posting when uploading photos to StylePile.

How do I take a good photo?
Take a full body shot with good lighting (it will help bring out all elements of your outfit and in turn earn you followers!). If you have it handy, use a tripod for taking pictures that are crisp and clear. When possible take a couple of shots and post the ones that are clear and best show your outfit.

How do I tag an item in my outfit post?
Once you upload the photo, you will see an option to tag the items in your picture. Simply type in a name for the items in the style and a tag for each of them will be created. Separate multiple items for a style with commas.

How do I add or remove a user from my Style Club?
To add a user to your Style Club simply click on the "Add to Style Club" icon next to their Style photo. To remove a user, go to your Style Club page and click on the 'x' button on the photo of the user.

Where can I see the most recently posted styles?
The most recently uploaded styles are shown on the 'NEW' tab.

How do styles get featured?
For a style to appear on the featured page, it must:
  • Be loved by the the community - measured by the hearts and comments.
  • Add to the variety of styles - we want to showcase everything from skirts to shorts to saris.
  • Represent the diverse user community of StylePile - a healthy mix of new and seasoned users.
It all boils down to featuring the best styles that get the most love from the community.

How do I get in the Spotlight?
The styles with the most hearts in the past 2 weeks become a part of the spotlight section. To get in the spotlight - post your best styles and engage other members to heart them.

How do I become a Style Icon?
Style Icon is our way to reward users for their support and participation in our community. Each month StylePile chooses three Style Icons based on their activity on the site. The top three members with maximum karma points become the Style Icons of the month.

What are Karma Points and how to earn them?

Karma points are awarded to users based on their activity on StylePile.com. You will get:

  • 2 karma points for posting a Style photo.
  • 4 karma points for sharing your style post on facebook (use the icon next to your style).
  • 8 karma points if a Style photo makes it to the featured section (cue - post your best styles :-).
  • 2 karma points when a users adds you to their Style Club.
  • 0.5 karma point for every Style that you heart.
  • 1 karma point for every heart that one of your Style gets.*
  • 0.5 karma point for every comment you post.
  • 1 karma point for every comment on your Styles (except your own).*
  • 1 karma point for every friend that you invite to StylePile.
  • 2 karma points for every Forum topic that you create.
  • 1 karma point for every reply that you post to a forum topic.

* Only for hearts/comments from users who have received more than 25 hearts on their own styles.

We changed the way karma points are awarded for hearts and comments to ensure that the more active members of the community have a bigger say in choosing the Style Icons.

If a Style or a comment is deleted you will lose the karma points for those.

Only points awarded for styles posted during the current month will be considered for the Style Icon contest.

We also think that becoming fan of the StylePile facebook page is good karma :-)

Your profile page will show your lifetime Karma points

Style Icon page will show the karma points for top users based on their activity during the current month.

How do I enter a contest?
To enter an ongoing contest, upload a new style and check the " Enter in the contest" box that appears, when adding description to your Style.

How do ♥s work?
If you like a style, click on the 'Heart this' icon next to the photo to ♥ it. The styles you ♥ will be added to your 'Styles I Heart' section on your profile page. You can ♥ a particular style only once.

How do comments work?
You can add comments to a style by clicking on the comments button next to the photo. Also, you can access all the comments on your styles in one click by going to the comments link on your profile page.

What do I do in case of offensive comments?
You have complete control over the comments posted on your style photos. You have the option to delete any negative, offensive or spam comments.

How do I change or retrieve my password?
Please click on the `forgot password’ link to retrieve your password. You can change your password by going to the Settings page.
